About

Take Back the Night at UVA is a CIO at the University of Virginia that works to commemorate sexual assault awareness month in April. We are a member organization of the Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition at UVA. Our organization puts on events throughout the month of April to educate and raise awareness about sexual assault and how we can prevent power-based violence in our communities.

Our events include a Vigil to recognize survivor stories within our own Charlottesville and UVA communities, an event on healthy masculinity, an event on Title IX policy, and a Day of Healing. Meet our committee chairs and two co-chairs below.

Our Mission

We are a student led group at the University of Virginia striving to prevent and raise awareness about sexual violence. We strive to support survivors and to end power based violence at the University and in Charlottesville. We host events in the month of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, to make students and community members more conscious of the power they have to prevent violence and to support survivors of violence .
